Etisalat pips du to the post
Last Updated : Tuesday 22 May, 2007
Etisalat has launched the 3G MobileCam, a service that provides video access of a user’s home via a mobile phone. To use MobileCam, customers need to purchase a 3G MobileCam device, priced at dhs799 from any of the company’s business centres or key retailers across the UAE. They also need to buy a prepaid or postpaid 3G SIM card for the MobileCam.A user will then need to call the camera from a 3G or 3.5G-enabled handset to activate the device. There are no subscription charges, no installation fees and no subscription charges for 3G customers.
The announcement comes on the heels of a similar announcement from rival du, which said that it would offer a ‘HomeCam’ service in the next few months
